It started in May 2022 with individuals bringing a box of clothing, plus $50 for shipping, and the items were in the hands of refugees in Krakow in 2 weeks! Since then, the effort has grown and expanded as more donors have become ‘connected’, and as other needs and locations were identified.
Items are now collected, sorted, packaged and sent to 41 distribution points and facilities.
Items listed in the ‘Current Needs’ tab can be dropped off in Rogers City or arrangements can be made to meet you and pick them up. You can also send them to the location in Rogers City.

More than 22,000 items of clothing, plus many boxes of school and medical supplies, solar lights, and hygiene products have been sent since May of 2022! Toys for more than 1200 children were delivered in person for Christmas in 2022 and 2023.
Food and heavier hygiene products are purchased in Poland and/or Ukraine, and then delivered during personal missions to Ukraine. One Box has also purchased and delivered 14 washing machines and 10 toilet chairs to various shelters, hospitals, and orphanages.
Financial contributions provide for the shipping expenses, and for purchasing other aid.
Shipping
One Box works with two shipping companies in the Detroit area. Amerpol is a Polish agency and Meest is a Ukrainian company. So, depending on the desired destination, one or both are used.
The two options are by sea and by air. By sea takes about 4-6 weeks, while air freight takes about 2-3 weeks. The majority of shipments are by boat but if it’s urgent, like medical supplies or toys for kids at Christmas, then air is used.
